Steam Patch Notes

Pegfinity launched on Steam on August 14, 2026 and then shipped a stack of small patches the same night and the next morning. This page transcribes the official Steam news posts. It is not a guess list. If a line is not here, we have not seen it in a public announcement. Pair it with launch notes for price and platforms, and with known issues for reports that still have no named fix.

The studio is Fragment Ventures AS, solo, based in Norway. The author of every note below is Lasse. The tone is short and grateful because launch-week players filed the same complaints this wiki already logged: Graveyard costing ten times too much, a chest popup that ignored the controller, a grindy first hour, a charge bar that did not reset, and a flashing background with no off switch.

v 1.2.1 — Graveyard and early progression

Steam title: Small balancing fix - v 1.2.1.

Two facts matter. Early progression was retuned so the first stretch of the tree should feel less stuck. And the Graveyard peg, which launch reviews and a Steam thread reported at 90 million (90kk) instead of the planned 9 million, was priced ten times too high. That extra zero is officially a bug, and 1.2.1 is the named fix.

If you still see 90 million, restart Steam, verify files, and check you are not on a stale build. If you already skipped Graveyard because this wiki told you to, go back and buy it like any other late peg. The peg tier list no longer parks it in a bug bucket. The upgrade order planner no longer treats it as blocked.

Hotfix 1.2.2 — chest popup on controller

Steam title: Hotfix 1.2.2.

The Power Up / New PWR-Up chest popup now accepts the controller. Launch players who were stuck on that modal with a gamepad, especially on Steam Deck, should be able to open the chest. Mouse users who still cannot dismiss the popup should restart once and then file a new Steam report if it repeats. Do not buy tree nodes to unstick a modal. Achievements should not require a freeze.

Patch 1.2.3 — early grind, charge, auto-launch

Steam title: Patch 1.2.3: QoL fixes and some more balancing.

Five shipped lines:

  • Early gameplay should feel less grindy. More options, more control over the early skill-tree path.
  • Toolbars that appeared off-screen when an upgrade sat near the edge are fixed.
  • Charge now has a sound effect so the hold-to-fire loop feels less like a silent UI widget.
  • If you charge to maximum, the ball auto-launches. This is not a tree node. It is a charge-cap behaviour.
  • The charge progress bar resets after a launch.

That auto-launch line changes how this wiki talks about aiming. Launch-week reviews asked for a gadget that fires for you while you watch the cascade. 1.2.3 is not that idle machine. It is a safety: fill the meter completely and the shot leaves without a perfect release. You can still release early. You should still aim at the top row. You should still start the next hold while the previous ball is falling. Details live in controls and systems.

The early-grind line matters for progression. If you bounced off the tree on launch day, come back. The skip list is the same — peg value, density, Hypemeter, Cactus, then a feeder — but the first hour should offer more real choices and fewer three-run waits.

Minor text hotfix

A later Steam note fixed typos and spelling. No mechanics. If a tooltip looks cleaner than a screenshot from August 14, that is why.

Accessibility patch — background motion and pulse

Steam title: Small Patch - Adding more accessibility features.

Two options shipped:

  • Disable background pattern movement.
  • Turn off the blinking pulse light on the background.

A Steam discussion titled as a seizure hazard asked for this. It is no longer “lower your monitor and hope.” Open the options, kill the motion, kill the pulse, then play. Disco balls, fireworks, and the atomic bomb can still flash on the board itself. The background is the part you can now quiet. Setup notes sit on systems.

What these patches do not claim

Cloud save is still unconfirmed. No official Discord is listed. Memory-leak reports from launch day have no named patch line. Extra balls, gumball, and portal still depend on feeders; that is economy, not a hotfix. Bouncy pegs still have a hate thread. Brazilian client language is still a request. We will not invent a 1.2.4 to make this list look longer.

Laser plus UFO idle loops and cactus plus portal loops were demo-era comments. They may still exist. Playtesters asked for timeouts. Enjoy them or wait; they are not viruses. Synergies describes the recipes.

How to play after 1.2.3

  1. Confirm the build includes auto-launch at max charge and a charge reset.
  2. Turn off background motion if strobe bothers you.
  3. Buy Graveyard when you reach it; do not farm a 90 million ghost price.
  4. Follow How to Play and beginner mistakes so you do not spend the easier early tree on baskets.
  5. Keep known issues open only for reports that still lack a patch name.

Official store: Steam. News lives on the app’s Steam announcements. This wiki is unofficial and will add a new page only when a later numbered post exists.

If you bought Pegfinity during the 30 percent intro window, these patches are the reason the first evening should feel closer to the positive reviews than to the launch-day meter complaints. The juice was always there. The extra zero on Graveyard, the deaf charge bar, and the stuck chest were not the fantasy. They were bugs. They now have names.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers players ask after the Steam launch.

Did Pegfinity fix the Graveyard 90 million price?

Yes. Steam patch 1.2.1 states Graveyard was priced ten times too high. Buy it as a late peg, not as a blocked node.

Is there an auto-launcher now?

At maximum charge the ball auto-launches as of 1.2.3. It is not a skill-tree gadget. See controls.

Can I disable the flashing background?

Yes. The accessibility patch adds toggles for background pattern movement and the blinking pulse light. Details on systems.

Where is the demo 1.4 frog-tongue patch?

That is pre-launch history on the demo changelog, not a Steam 1.2.x line.
